Sleepwell

Product information

The Sleepwell appliance is designed to help reduce airway obstruction during sleep by holding the lower jaw in a forward position, this keeps the airway open and unobstructed during sleep to help prevent the snoring from occurring

How to use Sleepwell

Taking your device, place the hook component over the top teeth and the shelf component over the lower. Bring your lower jaw forward to allow the hook on the upper part to locate under the metal plate on the lower, for the first two weeks, wear without advancing the lower jaw screw.

  1. Place Sleepwell with the component (shown as part A) over the top teeth
  2. Press into place
  3. Place the Sleepwell with the shelf (shown as part B) over the bottom teeth
  4. Press into place
  5. To engage Sleepwell move lower jaw forward and close mouth
  6. Sleepwell is now in place. It is important that you get used to wearing Sleepwell so for the first two weeks just wear Sleepwell and do not try to advance your jaw. The objective is for Sleepwell to hold your lower jaw in a slightly forward position which in turn opens your airway to revent snoring. After getting used to wearing Sleepwell you should gradually adjust Sleepwell over a few weeks to find the optimum setting.

Adjustment

Once you are comfortable wearing your Sleepwell device, you can use the adjustment key to advance your lower jaw position as advised by your dentist.

Turn the key clockwise to move the device forward.

Turn the key anticlockwise to move the device backward.

We recommend advancing the device by maximum of one full turn each week until your snoring has stopped. Adjustments should only be made when the Sleepwell device is not being worn.

If you feel resistance when making an adjustment, do not force the mechanism. Check that there is no visible obstruction and that the adjustment hook has not reached the end of its permitted travel. If you are unable to adjust the appliance normally, contact your dentist. Do not attempt to dismantle, bend or repair the appliance yourself.

If the hook has reached the maximum permitted adjustment, please contact your dentist for further advice.
