Invisible Retainers

IMG 0580

Clear and Invisible retainers are becoming a very popular type of post treatment orthodontic retainer, particularly since the introduction of Invisalign and Clear Step treatments. The pressure formed custom made retainer is designed to hold the teeth in their final position after fixed orthodontic brackets and archwires have been removed. A  clear invisible retainer is made by having impressions taken by a dentist and the laboratory will vacuum or pressure form them using a EVA, PVC or similar material. No metal components are required, therefore giving a much better appearance to standard orthodontic retainers.

Rationale

  • Post Orthodontic Treatment Retention
  • Minor tooth movements can be achieved for final treatment adjustments

Construction requirements

  1. Upper and lower impression in alginate
